![]() The hotel is a short walk from downtown and a moderate walk to Harvard Square/Somerville. We asked Khalid where we should go for dinner celebrations that night and he kindly offered us a few suggestions that he thought we would like. Our view overlooked a beautiful garden and the downtown Boston area. We called down to have coffee machine brought up and they brought it right away. Our room was super clean, modern, beautiful, bright, and spacious. She went above and beyond during our check in and check out to ensure that we had an excellent and comfortable stay. Heidy, at check-in, was SUPER nice and helped accommodate our needs. Upon arriving, the gentleman at the front took our bags right away and placed them for us inside. We loved staying at this Kimpton Marlowe! It was conveniently located in Cambridge just 5 minutes away from the main Downton Boston/North End area. ![]() While there is nothing “shopping wise” in this area, I also brought my bicycle with me. There were freshly baked goods as well as 2 different types of baked omelets, cereal, eggs, yogurts, and various beverages. It happened to be on my 2nd day there, and I thought the breakfast at the hotel was very good (while yes it was also free that day). There would be a sign outside the restaurant if that is the case. I’d guess your chances are 1 in 30 maybe. ![]() That being said, they sometime offer a complementary breakfast buffet in the restaurant. ![]() I also mentioned that the breakfast buffet was an additional $20. I think it would have been more efficient for housekeep to service the room at the midpoint go my stay (day 3) rather then the day before my departure (day 4). While the room was serviced on the 4th day of my stay. As I mentioned, my plan had me there for 5 days. The room will be serviced by housekeeping on the 4th day of your stay. About a 9 minute walk from the hotel is the Alewife T Station where overnight parking is $9 M-F and $3 overnight on the Weekends. Just for informational purposes, across the street is the Alewife Reservation DCR parking with 8-10 parking spaces where you can park for free for 2 hours when exploring the Alewife Reservation “AREA”. That being said, there are small signs hat you can leave on your door if you need additional towels or just stop by the front desk to get additional anything for the room. Parking at the hotel is $25 a night, the breakfast buffet was an additional $20, and there is no daily house keeping service. There were also 2 complementary iMacs in the lobby to use. The Wifi at the hotel was complimentary and had good download and upload speed. Coffee, tea and water were free and always available by the front desk. In addition to power outlets there are USB ports available both by the desk and in between the beds where you can recharge your devices. There wasn’t a lot of drawer cabinet space available (2 drawers) but there were a sufficient amount of surface area, plus the room had a 2nd bed that I wasn’t using that I could just put my clothes on. There was a small fridge along with coffee and tea maker available. The room is self is modern in appearance and was very clean upon arrival. So just using the Marriott App was unsuccessful and abandoned. While I was able to use the App to open my room door, you need an actual room key from the front desk to use the elevators, gym and pool area. I tried to do check-in via the Marriott App and was successful to an extent. The long version starts here: I came up and stayed for 5 days for Tufts graduation weekend in May 2022. The short version is I enjoyed my stay and it was like staying in an upscale version of an Aloft hotel.
